Education Manager
Margaret O’Connell Marg joined the team in 2006 and has an Arts and Education background and has worked in tertiary, community and vocational education sectors around Australia. In 2002, Marg was a WA Flexible Learning Leader. Most recently, her work in flexible learning has been as an education designer, focusing on the design of online learning spaces and teaching strategies to enhance students' learning experience. She is currently undertaking a Master of Education at UTS. Marg's role is to manage and support the strategic directions in which the Flex:Ed team is heading. Penny Neuendorf Penny has worked at CIT for the last 10 years and has joined the team in 2009. During her time at CIT she enthusiastically embraced e-learning and infiltrated it into all aspects of her course. Recently she has been working on a Virtual Worlds in Health Education Project. She is currently undertaking a Master in Online Education at Southern Queensland University. Expertise: project management, virtual worlds, wiki, WebCT, resource development, providing teacher support.
Aaron Pont Aaron has worked in a range of educational settings including TAFE, University and school sectors and operated his own consultancy for private training organisations. He has worked in the Information Technology industry since 1983 and moved into the education sector in 1998, teaching every facet of Information Technology to the most diverse range of people in an eclectic range of settings. He is a qualified Adult Educator and Workplace Trainer and Assessor. Aaron is interested in implementing flexible and online tools that enhance the teaching and learning experience. He is currently working on developing flexible, dynamic and online courses for teachers at CIT as well as evaluating Virtual Worlds for education. Expertise: education design, professional development facilitation, Virtual Worlds design.
Helen Lynch – ACT Toolbox Champion Helen joined the team in 2007 and has a background as an educator and flexible learning enthusiast in the vocational education and training and university sectors in NSW. She has worked with various companies to write competencies for a number of training packages and engage in flexible learning research. Helen, in her consulting business, has also helped private RTOs develop elearning resources and manage AQTF requirements. Her most recent work has been in the university sector developing elearning and other resources for indigenous students in Policing. Expertise: education design, project management, resource development, professional development facilitation and educational research.
Kerry Trabinger Kerry has worked at CIT for 16 years and for the past 4 years as the Flexible and E-Learning Training Manager for the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management. Kerry has been involved in online learning since 1998, initially as an online tutor for Qantas College and then as an online lecturer with the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management. In 2001 Kerry moved into online course design and has developed many successful online subjects incorporating toolboxes and e-Kits. Kerry has completed a Masters of Professional Education and Training with Deakin University with a focus on flexible and online delivery and has presented at many conferences across Australia and internationally. Kerry was a 2004 Australian Flexible Learning Leader and in 2006 and 2007 was the Facilitator for the Australian E-Learning Networks Community Forum. Kerry’s current interests include online communities, virtual classrooms and virtual worlds. Expertise: education design, project management, professional development facilitation, online communication and moderation.
Margaret Robson Margaret Robson has worked with flexible and online learning at CIT since 1997, firstly whilst teaching in the Department of Software Development and more recently in Teacher Education where she used Web 2.0 social networking tools to re-engineer programs to provide multiple learning pathways. She has published IT workbooks to support flexible learning programs. Expertise: education design, resource development to meet learning goals, professional development facilitation. Colin Simpson Colin joined the Flex:Ed team in 2003 and has an extensive background in educational multimedia, web development and audiovisual production. He is a qualified secondary teacher who has taught in Media Arts and also has a Master of Education (ICT in Education and Training) at the University of Wollongong. He can help you with using audio, video and games in your teaching as well as social web tools and WebCT in general. Expertise: resource development, professional development facilitation, research and development.
Rebecca Trynes, Graphic and Web Designer Rebecca joined the team in 2003. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and is a certified Workplace Trainer and Assessor. Rebecca has expertise in principles of universal design as well as the creation and development of webpages, graphics (2D and 3D), subject icons and banners, and animations. Expertise: resource development, professional development facilitation.
Tenille Piagno, Graphic and Web Designer Tenille joined Flex:Ed in 2008 and holds an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design completed at CIT in 2002. Her background lies in logo, brochure and publication design. She has worked previously within the Strategic and National Projects area of CIT at Reid, designing publications, and promotional material of e-learning events for the Australian Flexible Learning Framework. Expertise: Design and development of print and web materials, graphic elements and digital imaging.
Sue Bebbington, E-learning resource developer Sue joined the team in 2008 after doing similar work at the University of Canberra. In 2003 she completed the Advanced Diploma in Electronic Design and Digital Imaging at CIT in Reid. Most of Sue's professional life has been as an analyst programmer working on commercial systems. Expertise: Design and development of print and web-based learning materials
